Cargo Insurance

Procedures, Guidance and Attachments

In this section of Brandsync, you will find procedures, guidance and attachments for Cargo Insurance, providing a clear and accessible reference point for the team. The documents ensure that everyone understands the correct process when responding to customer enquiries, assessing risks, managing exclusions, or completing referrals to our insurance brokers.

KC Group Shipping operates two distinct insurance arrangements. Freight Liability Insurance protects our global logistics and forwarding activities from third party claims and relies on our strict use of BIFA standard terms and conditions. Cargo Insurance is separate and may be offered to customers when appropriate to cover loss or damage to their cargo during transit. Because the exclusions for each policy type are similar, these documents help prevent confusion between the two and ensure that all decisions are made accurately and consistently.

The guidance available in this section includes:

• Cargo Insurance procedures
• NMU Rules and referral process
• Dual insurance declaration requirements
• Excluded cargoes and destinations
• Conditions for quoting, accepting bookings or referring to insurers
• AEO 40 Cargo Insurance procedure

Each document has been organised to support quick reference and accurate decision-making. Teams should follow the steps exactly as outlined before quoting, accepting bookings or offering any form of insurance.
